Increasing demand for renewable energy

The electrical energy sector contributes to 25% of global GHG emissions (https://drawdown.org/sites/default/files/pdfs/Drawdown_Review_2020_march10.pdf). According to the Committee on Climate Change, low carbon energy generation could reduce emissions by 79%, saving 1.25 tonnes of CO2 per average home annually (https://www.theccc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5CB-Infographic-FINAL-.pdf).

And yet, many people don’t know or don’t care about whether the energy they use at home or in their company comes from renewable sources or not. Furthermore, many people that have installed solar or wind energy at home can only use a fraction of the energy they produce (some studies say around 30%), and they are forced to pay to store the excess energy for later use or sell it back to the grid at low prices.

How can we make visible this problem for people and increase their demand for renewable energy sources?
